FC St. Pauli lost narrowly 0-1 (0-1) to FC Bayern Munich at home on Saturday. In front of a sell-out crowd at the Millerntor, the Boys in Brown held the visitors at bay with good defensive work and great passion, but a wonder goal from Jamal Musiala mid-way through the first half decided the game in the record champions’ favour.

FC St. Pauli exited the DFB Cup on Tuesday evening after a 4-2 second round defeat at Leipzig. Goals from Yussuf Poulsen (2) and Christoph Baumgartner gave the home side a 3-1 lead at the break, Morgan Guilavogui finding the net for the Boys in Brown. In a strong showing after the restart Eric Smith reduced the deficit on 58, only for Leipzig substitute Antonio Nusa to settle it ten minutes from time.

FC St. Pauli are now winless at home in four after they were held to a scoreless draw by VfL Wolfsburg in front of another sell-crowd at the Millerntor. The Boys in Brown had more of the game and both sides had chances to win it but failed to take them.
