Ziereis new captain - Lawrence vice-captain

The decision as to who will lead the Boys in Brown out onto the field in the 2021/22 season has been taken. Following the election of a six-man team committee by the players, head coach Timo Schultz named Philipp Ziereis new captain. The centre-back succeeds Christopher Avevor.
Ziereis, who has made 133 competitive appearances for the club to date stood in for the injured Christopher Avevor several times last season. His vice-captain will be defensive teammate James Lawrence. Head coach Timo Schultz selected both from the six-man team committee.
"In Philipp Ziereis and James Lawrence, we have two players who lead from the front on the pitch, not only by the way they play, but also in terms of their personality, and also live our values in the dressing room and on the training ground," said Schultz. "I'm delighted we'll have two experienced captains in the coming season."
Ziereis and Lawrence are joined on the six-man team committee by Leart Paqarada, Marvin Knoll, Maximilian Dittgen and Guido Burgstaller.
