Reginiussen: "I've never seen such a reaction to a game".

Thursday was a busy day for Tore Reginiussen and the Boys in Brown. Besides two training sessions, the defender also had a meeting with representatives of the Hamburg media lined up for him. The winter addition took time out between the two workouts to answer their questions.

Tore Reginiussen on...

...the decision to leave Norway after so many years: "Given my age, it was likely I'd end my career in Norway. I'd have been happy with that. But then things changed. My contract expired and the opportunity to move to FC St. Pauli came about with the potential to be a nice adventure at the end of my career. Another place, another club, another city - not just for me, but for my family, too. We're all glad we came."

...his season so far at FCSP: "When you move to a new club, it always takes a while to settle in. In the beginning, I almost always came on from the bench towards the end to help defend a lead and win the game. I've played more in the last two games. It's gone well so far. The team are performing well, we've picked up lots of points and I'm very happy about that."

...his role as a leader: "I'm an experienced player who's experienced ups and downs in his career. I want to use that to help the team, and especially the young players. For me, it's also about performing as well as I can in every training session. When you're playing, whether from the start or coming off the bench, you have to do your job as best you can and communicate a lot with the other players."

Tore Reginiussen dealt mainly with Philipp Hofmann on his first start for the club at Karlsruhe.

...the recent games against HSV and Karlsruhe: "We progressed as a team in both matches. We've worked hard for that. As a defender, I'm obviously very happy when we keep a clean sheet. I always go out with that goal in mind."

...communicating in a defence made up of many nationalities: "It's not that difficult, you learn the most important words fast. The important thing is that we all do our best to communicate and help each other. You can resolve a lot of situations together."

...his hero status among Celtic fans: "It's one of the funniest stories of my career. Rosenborg were in the same Europa League group as Celtic a few years ago. On the last matchday of the group stage we played at Leipzig, while Celtic were at home to Salzburg. They lost 2-1 and Leipzig were 1-0 up against us, which would have put Leipzig through and Celtic out. Then I equalised late on and that changed everything. Celtic were through and Leipzig were out. I got thousands of messages from Glasgow after the game and I still get them. I've had gifts sent and Christmas cards. I've never seen such a reaction to a game."

...his plans from the summer: "My mind's not on that yet, my focus is on the time until summer. It's now just a question of doing as well as we can to be successful. Everything else remains to be seen. Me staying is an option, but there's plenty of time until the end of the season. A lot can happen between now and then."
