Guilavogui: "We defend together and attack together"

After the narrow 2-1 defeat at Borussia Dortmund, the Boys in Brown are looking to get a result at home to VfL Wolfsburg this Saturday (15.30 CET). In the run-up, striker Morgan Guilavogui took time out to speak to the media.

Morgan Guilavogui on…

...the atmosphere at the Millerntor: "It's unbelievable! It never ceases to amaze me. The fans always get behind us and support us whether we win, lose or draw."

...the home game against Wolfsburg: "We have to apply the same principles as against Dortmund. We gave a good performance at Dortmund but this time we want to decide the game in our favour. It's going to be tough. We know they're experiencing problems at the moment and have some players out, but they have lots of good players such as new signing Mohamed Amoura, who I know personally."

...his brother Josuha, who played a long time for Wolfsburg: "We're in regular contact and talk a lot. He often gives me tips because he knows the Bundesliga and is more experienced than I am. He's been through some difficult moments and keeps telling me the results will come."

...a good defence but room for improvement in attack: "We defend together and attack together. We're working in both directions. It's harder to attack when you're doing a lot of defending. There are a couple of changes to make sure the defence functions better."

Morgan Guilavogui celebrated his first Bundesliga goal in vain at Dortmund, as it was chalked off after being checked by the VAR.

...potential differences between French and German football: "They're very different. They defend more in France. Here the football's more physical and much quicker. In Germany it's always about winning games. In France it's more about defending. Strikers like attacking, which is why I like German football better."

...the injury to Elias Saad: "We knew the injury could be worse and he'd be out for a while. We're always there for him, of course, and wish him a speedy recovery and return. I've haven't had any contact with him since the operation, but I'll speak to him later today."

...being used on the wing more: "In general, I want to be on the pitch, that's the most important thing for me. I don't really care what position, it's down to the coach in the end. Dapo can play on the left, Scotty can play on the right and Jojo in the middle. They're super players. I'd obviously like to play and help the team."
