Coordes joins VfB Stuttgart II

Attacking wide man Luis Coordes has left FC St. Pauli to join fourth-tier outfit VfB Stuttgart II. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose any details of the transfer.

Coordes, 23, joined the club's youth academy from MTV Treubund Lüneburg 2016 and ran out for both the Under-17 and Under-19 sides before signing professional terms at the start of the 2018/19 season. The winger made his second division debut against VfL Bochum in 2019 and went on to make a total of 13 league appearances.  He has not featured for the first team this season, having not played at all last term.

What they said:

Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: "Luis has not progressed the way we had hoped or envisaged. The move gives him an opportunity to re-establish his credentials elsewhere. We wish him all the best in that quest."

Luis Coordes: "I'll always have fond memories of my time at St. Pauli. I got my first taste of professional football here and learned a lot. I haven't had the playing time I had hoped for recently and so the move is the right step for me to seek a new challenge in Stuttgart. I would like to wish St. Pauli all the best for the rest of the season."
