Koglin and Litka released

FC St. Pauli continue to reshape their squad for the coming season and have elected to release Maurice Litka, currently on loan at third division KFC Uerdingen, and Brian Koglin this summer.

Koglin arrived at the Millerntor from Eintracht Norderstedt in the summer of 2013 and represented the club at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-23 level before making the transition to the senior squad. The defender made six appearances in the second division plus one in the DFB Cup. He also made 83 Regionalliga Nord appearances for the Under-23s, scoring nine goals and making another six.

Litka, 23, has been with the club since 2006, rising through the youth ranks to make his senior debut in September 2014. The left-footed flank player made a total of 22 second division appearances (one assist) plus a further 46 for the Under-23s (six goals, six assists). Litka spent the season just ended at third-division outfit KFC Uerdingen, making 20 appearances (one goal, two assists). Though the midfielder's contract runs until 2020, the two parties have agreed to part company this summer, with the club clearing the way for Litka to depart on a transfer this summer.

The club would like to thank both players for their efforts and wish them all the best for their professional and personal futures.
