Lankford makes permanent switch to Wehen Wiesbaden

Another player has left FC St. Pauli. Kevin Lankford has joined third division Wehen Wiesbaden, where he spent the second half of the season just ended on loan. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose any details of the transfer.

Lankford moved to the Millerntor from FC Heidenheim in January 2019. The 22-year-old forward made a total of 22 competitive appearances for the first team (1 assist) and seven for the Under-23s (3 goals, 4 assists). Lankford joined Wiesbaden on loan this January and ran out 16 times in the second half of the season (2 goals, 3 assists).

Reaction to the deal:

Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: "Moving to Wehen Wiesbaden in January was the right decision for Kevin. He's performed well there and secured a regular berth in the team, a perspective we wouldn't have been able to offer him next season in view of the competition for places in the squad. In that respect, the decision to move makes sense for all sides."

Kevin Lankford: "I had two exciting years at St. Pauli and developed as a person and as a player in that time. I had a successful second half of the season at Wehen Wiesbaden and am looking forward to continuing this journey with the club. I'd like to thank everyone at St. Pauli and wish them all the best for next season!"
