Irvine named captain, Hartel and Smith deputies

As previously announced, head coach Fabian Hürzeler named his captain for the 2023/24 season at the Passeier Valley training camp. Last season's co-captain Jackson Irvine will skipper the team this term, with Marcel Hartel and Eric Smith chosen as his deputies.
Irvine, Hartel and Smith will also serve on the six-man players' committee along with Hauke Wahl, Karol Mets and Sascha Burchert.
Commenting on his decision, head coach Fabian Hürzeler said: "Jackson Irvine is a genuine leader both on and off the pitch, someone who leads from the front when the going gets tough. We also have lads on the players' committee who take on lots of responsibility and lead the team. Nevertheless, everyone else is also called upon to engage for the team and, by doing so, contribute to the success of the group."
