SCHULTZ: "THE LADS ARE OBVIOUSLY DESPONDENT"

The mood in the camp after the 2-1 derby defeat at HSV was one of disappointment, of course. Nevertheless, we gathered some match reaction for you.

Head coach Timo Schultz: "Congratulations to HSV. After a run of success it's our turn to congratulate them. All in all, they deserved to win. We gave them a few chances early on but took the lead nonetheless. In the end, though, all the corners made the difference. They did well in the decisive situation. We know Bakery Jatta is quick when he gets going and he finished it well. We went for it after going behind and put them under pressure but were unable to take any of the chances we had to get the reward for our courage. The lads are obviously despondent."

Marcel Hartel: "We didn't get into the game the way we envisaged. They put us under pressure early and we didn't have any answers. We still had our chances, though, and took the lead. We did better in the second half but HSV turned it round. We would have loved to have given the fans a win. It's sad for us but we mustn't let our heads drop."

Tim Walter (HSV head coach): "I think we started well. We had some chances but didn't make the most of our opportunities when we won the ball high up the pitch. We then conceded unexpectedly. We had to shake ourselves down but didn't let it get to us. We powered the equaliser home with a show of desire and a good corner. The second goal came from a superb pass by Sonny Kittel to Bakery Jatta, who got away from his markers. We had the jitters a bit towards the end but defended well to seal the win."
