HEDENSTAD COMPLETES ROSENBORG SWITCH

Vegar Eggen Hedenstad has left FC St. Pauli to join Rosenborg BK, Norway's most decorated club, with immediate effect. The deal for the 25-year-old defender is possible because the Norwegian transfer period has not ended yet.

"Owing to the developments of recent weeks, the performances in the defensive positions and the current squad situation, we have agreed to Vegar's request to join a top club in his home country. Financial aspects also played a role in the transfer. Vegar has conducted himself impeccably, professionally and exemplarily not only during the transfer talks but also during his entire time at FC St. Pauli. We would like to wish him all the very best for his future career and thank him for his efforts on behalf of our club", said director of sport Andreas Rettig.

"Many thanks for seven exciting months and many thanks to the fans, the club staff and, of course, the players for the fantastic support. I leave with the fondest of memories and wish St. Pauli only the best for the future – especially the battle against relegation," said Hedenstad.

The four-times-capped Norway international, who arrived at the Millerntor on a free transfer from SC Freiburg in summer, made 15 second-division appearances for the club plus one in the DFB Cup, scoring one goal.

FC St. Pauli would like to wish Vegar Eggen Hedenstad all the best for his personal and professional future!
