FC ST. PAULI SIGN STRIKER VIKTOR GYÖKERES ON LOAN

Just before the start of the season, the Boys in Brown have strengthened in attack with the addition of Sweden international Viktor Gyökeres from Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion on a one-year loan deal.

"We're delighted to have won Viktor Gyökeres for a one-year loan spell," said director of sport Andreas Bornemann. "Viktor is a talented young player who broke into the Swedish national team early this year."

Head coach Jos Luhukay also expressed his satisfaction with the deal, saying: "With his dynamism and pace, Viktor will enhance our attacking game. He's a versatile front player who gives us another option in attack alongside Dimitrios Diamantakos for the start of the season."

"I'm delighted to be able to run out for FC St. Pauli," said Gyökeres after putting pen to paper. "I'll work hard on my game and try to get to know my new teammates and the playing system as quickly as possible."

Gyökeres made four FA Cup appearances and played 19 times for Brighton's Under-23s (seven goals, three assists) last season. In addition to two appearances for the Swedish national team (one goal), he has represented his country 21 times at youth level, scoring ten goals.
