MEMBERS ELECT LUISE GOTTBERG AS VICE-PRESIDENT

The members of FC St. Pauli have elected Luise Gottberg as the club's new vice-president by a large majority. More than 98 per cent of those eligible to vote opted for the 34-year-old lawyer at the general meeting at the Congress Center Hamburg on Friday evening.

Of the 803 members entitled to vote at the CCH, 768, or 98.1%, voted for Luise Gottberg. There were 15 no votes and 20 abstentions.

The Hamburg-born lawyer was provisionally appointed vice-president by the supervisory board in March and is responsible for the areas fans and legal. She began her acceptance speech by thanking her predecessor Christiane Hollander, who served on the presidential board for many years, initiating and driving forward many positive developments at the club.

Gottberg now aims to build on this work. " On behalf FC St. Pauli and, by extension for and with you, I'm here to go into the spaces where, in the best case, things can be changed for the better," the 34-year-old said. Alongside her work as a lawyer, she has worked on a voluntary basis in and around the fan base and the local community for many years. Inside the club, she has provided legal support for the supporter relations work and presided over meetings of the AFM.

In concluding, Gottberg invited the members to speak to her and have their say.  "FC St. Pauli lives from you, from the people who get involved – be they members, fans, volunteers or employees. In all the topics I'm working on, and especially those relating to fans, it's especially important that we talk to each other," the newly elected vice-president said.
