Central defender Florian Carstens has left the Boys in Brown to join Wehen Wiesbaden on a permanent move after spending the current season on loan with the third-division outfit. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose any details of the transfer.
Carstens, 22, moved to the St. Pauli academy from MTV Treubund Lüneburg in 2014. He made the transition to the senior squad in the 2018/19 season and went on to make 22 competitive appearances for the club, scoring one goal and contributing one assist.
Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: "Flo quickly established himself as a first-team regular at Wehen Wiesbaden and has had a good campaign in the third division. We'll be well placed in central defence again next season, so it would remain difficult for him to get playing time with us. The move is therefore a sensible solution for all parties."
Florian Carstens: "I'd like to thank FC St. Pauli for six brilliant and instructive years in which I made it into professional football. I settled in at Wehen Wiesbaden right away and have made very good progress this season, and would now like to continue on this path. I wish St. Pauli all the best and will always have special ties with my home club. Forza FCSP!"

Florian Carstens has made 31 competitive appearances for Wehen Wiesbaden this season, scoring two goals in the process.
