FC ST. PAULI AWARDED LICENCE FOR 2022/23 SEASON

There was good news for FC St. Pauli from the German Football League (DFL) this week. The Boys in Brown have been awarded a licence to compete in the second division for the 2022/23 season. Should the club achieve promotion to the Bundesliga, the expected conditions – such as infrastructure measures – have been attached to the licence award.

During the licensing process, all clubs applying for a licence are assessed for financial, sporting, legal, personnel-administrative, infrastructure and media criteria in accordance with the DFL licensing regulations. None of the 47 applicant clubs has been refused a licence by the DFL for the 2022/23 season, though some will have to meet certain conditions next term.
