Armina Bielefeld fact file

After the bitterly disappointing 4-0 defeat at Greuther Fürth on Sunday, the Boys on Brown have another away trip coming up, this time to Arminia Bielefeld on Friday evening (1830 CET). As usual, we've put together a few facts and figures on our forthcoming opponents.

Long-distance runners

No team has put in more mileage than Arminia Bielefeld this season. With 15 matches played, they are out in front on 1,793.76 kilometres. FC Ingolstadt (1,774.61 kilometres) and Darmstadt 98 (1,758.40 kilometres) follow in second and third place respectively. Manuel Prietl has already rattled off 170.15 kilometres in 14 games to put him in fourth place in the league rankings. Left-back Florian Hartherz also features in the top 10, having covered 158.71 kilometres in 14 matches.

Late goals

Jeff Saibene's side also lead the way in terms of late goals, having scored six times from the 90th minute. In the recent 2-0 win at FC Kaiserslautern, for example, Konstantin Kerschbaumer hit the target in the fourth minute of time added on.

New club record

Arminia set a new club record in that 2-0 win over the Red Devils, it being the 13th away game in a row in which they have scored at least once. The last time they drew a blank on the road was a 1-0 defeat at FC Nürnberg on 12 March 2017.

Free-kick specialist

In the 2-2 draw against Eintracht Braunschweig midfielder Tom Schütz opened the scoring with a direct free-kick, the third time he has scored in that manner in 2017. His overall total in the second division is four.

Ever-present

A total of 17 second-division players have yet to miss a minute of the current season. For Arminia, goalkeeper Stefan Ortega has played every single minute. Midfielder Manuel Prietl has missed one game, while Bielefeld's leading scorer, Andreas Voglsammer, has missed just 127 minutes.

Golden touch

Arminia coach Jeff Saibene has made the best substitutions so far this campaign. The players he has brought on have already been involved in nine goals, scoring scored five themselves, more than any other team in the league. Andraz Sporar has contributed two goals from the bench, with Konstantin Kerschbaumer, Leandro Putar and Sören Brandy all on target once.
