Alex Meier to leave club

After a round of post-season meetings marked by trust and respect, FC St. Pauli and Alex Meier have agreed not to go into the new season together.

Meier arrived at the Millerntor in the winter break after striker Henk Veerman sustained a serious knee injury. He immediately demonstrated his quality and met all the hopes and expectations placed on him, featuring in all 16 matches after the turn of the year, scoring six goals and providing one assist. During this time he also conducted himself flawlessly both on and off the pitch.

Andreas Rettig: “We would like to thank Alex Meier most sincerely for his effort and performances in the last half a year. Alex was an excellent fit for St. Pauli, both as player and as a person. He integrated superbly from day one and put himself at the service of the team without any affectations whatsoever.”

Alex Meier: “When St. Pauli asked me whether I can help in the winter break, I was happy to say yes because of my St. Pauli past. It was a great experience and I’d like to thank all the St. Pauli fans for their support.”

Dear Alex, we’d like to wish you all the best for your professional and personal future. You’ll always be welcome at the Millerntor.

You’ll never walk alone!!!
