Albers pens new deal

FC St. Pauli and Andreas Albers have agreed to extend their association, meaning the Danish striker will continue his spell at the Millerntor in the Bundesliga.

Albers moved to Hamburg from Jahn Regensburg at the start of last season‘s promotion campaign. In total, the 34-year-old has contributed 37 goals and 13 assists in 150 Bundesliga 2 appearances to date. He last hit the target in the 2-1 win at Wehen Wiesbaden, a goal that helped to clinch the championship for the Boys in Brown.

Reaction to the deal:

Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: “Andreas has built an impeccable reputation here and is held in high regard in the entire group. That was the basis for extending our association.“

Head coach Alexander Blessin: “Andreas Albers is an experienced centre-forward who can help us in the Bundesliga with his personality, positive attitude and huge identification with the club.“

Andreas Albers: "I'm delighted to be staying at FC St. Pauli after our promotion last season. I'd like to help the team with my experience both on and off the pitch and will give it all ice got!"
